Abstract
Ancres de la mi-avril jusqu'au passage du dernier oceanique a destination de l'Europe au debut de decembre, les hommes d'equipage des bateaux-phares signalaient par leur presence des pieges mortels pour la navigation et ont consacre leur vie a preserver celle de leurs confreres qui avaient la chance de laisser derriere eux un sillage. Jean Cloutier et Jean-Pierre Charest livrent un ouvrage anime par un devoir de memoire envers ces marins de l'immobile, totalement disparus de notre conscience collective. Le document se consacre a l'evolution de ces navires « qui n'allaient nulle part ». Il devoile un aspect humain fascinant, anime par de savoureux entretiens avec les derniers survivants qui vecurent sur le lightship. Il offre une visite detaillee des postes de mouillage et des navires assignes qui parsemerent notre fleuve majestueux depuis la Traverse-en-Haut jusqu'a la pointe Est de l'ile d'Anticosti. Enrichi par une iconographique abondante, cet ouvrage est un hommage a ces acteurs oublies.
