He holds an MA in Political Science from York University in Toronto, Canada, and has lectured at the Ateneo de Manila University. His PhD research titled “Lightspeed Sexualities: (Re)locating Gay Manila in Global Space-Time” explores the role of speed and technology in reconfiguring the intersections of Filipinoness, gayness, and globalization.
