D'ou viennent les mathematiques?? Meme le point euclidien est une idealisation, un neant physique? Il faut donc chercher du cote des imaginaires car les hommes utilisent des metaphores et des gestes (mouvements fictifs) pour inventer les mathematiques et les expliquer. C'est ce que propose ici Rafael Nunez en s'appuyant a la fois sur l'anthropologie et les sciences cognitives.Rafael Nunez est professeur au departement de sciences cognitives de l'Universite de Californie, San Diego (UCSD). Il est co-directeur fondateur du Fields Cognitive Science Network for the Empirical Study of Mathematics and How it is Learned, a l'Institut des sciences mathematiques a Toronto.
