Abstract

Full-wave solution of 4.9GHz plane wave scattering on 17cm by 17cm area of Arctic sea ice rough surface situated atop air-sea-water half-space is demonstrated. The solution is performed via Method of Moment (MoM) discretization of the Surface-Volume-Surface Integral Equation (SVS-EFIE). To account for the presence of air-sea half-space recently proposed formulation of the SVS-EFIE including multilayered media Green's function is used. The Green's function of the air-sea half-space is numerically computed using the Discrete Complex Image Method (DCIM). Numerically obtained distribution of the electric field throughout the model of the ice rough surface is compared against independent reference solution of a commercial multilayered media MoM solver.
