Abstract
Résumé Cet article dresse un panorama synthétique de la stratégie maritime indienne et des moyens militaires et diplomatiques mis en uvre par New Delhi en Indo-Pacifique. La présence militaire croissante de la Chine en Indo-Pacifique et le partenariat de défense sino-pakistanais ont modifié l'équilibre des puissances dans la région, renforçant l'importance stratégique de cette zone pour New Delhi. Depuis une dizaine d'années, la politique maritime de l'Inde est caractérisée par la modernisation de ses moyens militaires et la mise en place par le gouvernement de Narendra Modi d'une diplomatie maritime proactive. Cette diplomatie est fondée sur l'établissement de partenariats bilatéraux et plurilatéraux sélectifs, dont bénéficie la France.
