Abstract
The sedimentary succession on Bache and Knud peninsulas consists of upper Neohelikian and lower Neoproterozoic sandstone, about 65 m thick, and assigned to the Smith Sound Group. Although the overlying mid-Cambrian succession has been mapped as single unit, it can be subdivided into six, thin formations in areas of good exposure. The single map unit comprises about 300 m of massive carbonate above a thin, basal sandstone.
