Au cours des deux dernieres decennies, un veritable tsunami de delocalisations et de fermetures d'usines a deferle sur le Quebec. Dans cet essai, l'auteur evoque a grands traits cette desindustrialisation systemique qui a supprime pres de 200 000 emplois manufacturiers permanents. Malgre la gravite de la situation, l'auteur est convaincu de la necessite et de la faisabilite d'un redressement industriel; il croit fermement qu'aujourd'hui encore, l'industrie demeure la locomotive de la croissance economique d'une societe avancee, dynamique et prospere. En definitive, il invite les Quebecois a relever le grand defi d'une renaissance industrielle qui stimulerait durablement la croissance economique, stopperait la montee du chomage et assurerait la creation vigoureuse d'emplois de qualite.
