Ce mémoire aborde l'adaptabilité de l'architecture québécoise au climat hivernal froid et son évolution depuis le début de la colonisation jusqu'à nos jour. La maison québécoise, typologie typique et historique de la région du Bas Saint-Laurent est explicitée, ainsi que les conditions de sa disparition. Les spécificités du projet au Québec sont aussi détaillées.
