Secara hipotesis keilmuan kebahasaaraban tidak akan lahir tanpa ada Al Quran meskipun Al Quran turun kepada bangsa Arab yang pandai bersyair, bahkan tumbuh dan berkembangnya bahasa Arab tidak lain dari peran Al Quran sebagai Ummul Ilmu kebahasaan itu sendiri, Bahasa Arab merupakan produk peradaban yang menjadi icon masyarakat muslim dan rujukan dalam memahami Al Quran. Terkadang satu kata dalam bahasa Arab akan melahirkan berbagai macam arti yang diperlukan kecermatan, ketelitian bahkan diperlukan komptenesi linguistik bahasa Arab. penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan model analisis isi (Content Analysis). Sejumlah kalimat ضرب dan derivasi nya dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi tertulis (mushaf Al Quran) dan pedoman pencatatan data. Kemudian data tersebut dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk mengkaji makna morfologi kalimat dan variasi makna secara gramatikalnya. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan kata ضرب dan derivasinya yang terdapat dalam 28 surah dalam Al Quran dengan 55 bentuk kalimat, Secara umum dalam Al Quran perubahan bentuk derivasi dan makna kalimat ضرب dapat dikelompokkan kedalam 7 bagian yaitu tanpa perubahan bentuk kalimat, dalam hal ini kalimat ضرب tidak mengalami perubahan bentuk apapun; perubahan bentuk masdhar dari kalimat asli; Adanya penambahan dhamir di akhir kalimat; Perubahan bentuk mudhari’ dengan dhamir yang tersembunyi; perubahan bentuk kalimat Majhul; penambahan huruf la nahiyah yang bermakna larangan; perubahan bentuk Amar/perintah.
