Abstract
À partir d’une analyse de trois œuvres québécoises contemporaines qui mettent en jeu différentes formes d’ennui, nous tenterons de voir comment celui-ci ouvre provisoirement un espace de subjectivation critique. Retraite (2014) et Rénovation (2016) de Renaud Jean ainsi que La Vie littéraire (2014) de Mathieu Arsenault ne prennent pas le parti d’une subversion ou d’une rupture esthétique particulière : ces auteurs n’ont pas nécessairement une « posture engagée ». On y retrace plutôt différentes formes d’ennui, qui semble chaque fois moins un état passif qu’une réaction à une réalité sociale, particulièrement le travail et le discours économique de l’activité et de la performance. L’ennui trace ainsi dans ces œuvres les contours d’une subjectivité critique.
