Antecedentes: Los organismos responden a cambios en el medio ambiente, por ello el proceso reproductivo de un organismo puede verse afectado como consecuencia de la contaminacin.Chione undatella es un recurso potencial pesquero y de cultivo que se ha explotado durante muchos aos de forma intensiva en la costa del Pacfico mexicano.Objetivos: El principal objetivo del estudio fue caracterizar el ciclo reproductivo y la temporalidad del desove, as como la talla de primera madurez y determinar si existen daos tisulares que puedan tener efectos adversos en la reproduccin de C. undatella provocados por la contaminacin presente en el puerto minero de Santa Rosala, Golfo de California.Mtodos: A travs del anlisis histolgico, del ndice de condicin (ICG) y de parmetros ambientales, se evaluaron aspectos de salud y de la biologa reproductiva de la almeja roosa en la zona costera del puerto de Santa Rosala.Resultados: C. undatella presenta actividad reproductiva durante todo el ao, sin que ello se asocie con la concentracin de clorofila-a ni con la temperatura.Se encontr una correlacin inversa entre el ICG y la fase de desarrollo de mayor frecuencia (madurez) en hembras.La talla de primera madurez es de 57 mm LC.En el tejido gonadal (> 80% de los individuos) se observ
