Abstract
Après une clarification de l’expression « enfance en difficulté » et un aperçu du milieu multidisciplinaire dans lequel oeuvrent les professionnels des affaires sociales et de l’éducation, les auteurs retracent le rôle du Centre d’information sur l’enfance et l’adolescence inadaptées, devenu le Centre d’information sur la santé de l’enfant. Par ses nombreuses publications, le Centre d’information sur l’enfance et l’adolescence inadaptées a été l’une des principales sources d’information sur l’enfance en difficulté au Québec. Il a été aussi à l’origine d’un réseau d’information privilégiant la méthode d’organisation documentaire par indexation coordonnée au moyen du Thesaurus : Enfance inadaptée que le Conseil du Québec de l’enfance exceptionnelle a adopté comme langage documentaire pour ses membres, dans le but de poursuivre le développement du réseau.
