Abstract
À partir de décembre 1945, le père dominicain Georges-Henri Lévesque se trouve plongé au cœur d’une controverse impliquant une part influente du clergé autour de la question de la non-confessionnalité des coopératives. Jusqu’à sa démission du poste de doyen de la Faculté des sciences sociales de l’Université Laval en 1955, le dominicain sera la cible de nombreuses attaques de la part des pouvoirs clérical et politique. Pour résister à ces charges, il mobilise différentes tactiques dont l’analyse permet de mieux cerner la spécificité de l’intellectuel clérical dans le Canada français duplessiste.
