IntroduzioneL'esplorazione della mobilità geografica al di là di convenzionali spiegazioni push-pull è al centro dei contributi di questo dossier.La consapevolezza che gli individui e le famiglie decidono di migrare o di spostarsi altrove non solo per fuggire da guerre o per trovare migliori condizioni salariali, ma anche per seguire aspirazioni di studio, di vita e sentimentali non realizzabili nel contesto in cui risiedono, è ormai largamente condivisa tra gli studiosi di migrazioni.Questa consapevolezza ha fatto sì che, nel corso degli ultimi due decenni, un numero crescente di studi si sia focalizzato sui vissuti, le esperienze e gli immaginari di coloro che vorrebbero emigrare o sono emigrati.Per rendere conto delle ragioni per cui le persone si spostano è necessario non solo comprendere le condizioni strutturali (economiche, politiche) in cui si trovano e le risorse che hanno a disposizione per farlo, ma anche ripercorrere gli immaginari dei protagonisti, le loro aspirazioni e desideri (
