Abstract
Les spécialistes de l’information documentaire sont conscients du fait que l’individualisme des bibliothèques nuit aux services bibliographiques que les citoyens sont en droit d’exiger. L’écart entre la production de l’information et l’acquisition de la documentation est souligné. Trois solutions sont examinées quant au degré d’inter-action qu’elles imposent aux bibliothèques, pour aboutir à la conclusion qu’une rationalisation du patrimoine bibliographique, dirigée par l’État, est inéluctable.
