Abstract
À l’aide des Rapports des travaux des congrès de l’ACBLF de 1951 à 1968, l’auteur retrace l’évolution des idées qui ont guidé l’action des bibliothécaires canadiens-français et déterminé les changements de leur profession. Deux périodes sont à distinguer : la première (de 1951 à 1960) qui est dominée par l’humanisme chrétien et la seconde (de 1960 à 1968) qui est caractérisée par la montée de l’idéologie scientifique. La conclusion s’impose d’elle-même : la vision du monde, la praxis et le mode d’argumentation du bibliothécaire varient d’une période à l’autre parce qu’issus de conceptions différentes.
