Abstract
L’auteur se penche sur les origines de la formation en bibliotechnique et sur les raisons qui ont amené la création du programme « Techniques de la documentation ». S’interrogeant sur les résultats de ce changement, tant sur le plan de la spécialisation que de la culture générale, il en dégage les conséquences pour le technicien actuel et pose en conclusion que ces changements s’inscrivent dans une évolution normale et inévitable de la formation en regard du marché du travail au Québec.
