Abstract

Subthreshold circuits are suitable for applications such as bio-medical applications where the amount of energy consumption is critical. However, the drawback of these circuits is their low speed. Parallel transistor stacks technique and designing subthreshold circuits based on optimum PMOS to NMOS width ratio has shown significant speed improvements. In this paper, by providing analytical proof, it is shown that the PMOS to NMOS width ratio is independent of temperature.
