Die Serie Communications in Asteroseismology (CoAst) stellt eine international gefragte Plattform für wissenschaftliche Publikationen der neuesten Forschungsergebnisse auf dem Gebiet der Asteroseismologie dar. Forschungsgegenstand der Asteroseismologie sind veränderliche und pulsierende Sterne. Neben den halbjährlich erscheinenden regulären Ausgaben mit Beiträgen aus der laufenden Forschung werden auch Sonderausgaben für Konferenzberichte bzw. Programmhandbücher herausgegeben. Volume 157 berichtet über einen wissenschaftlichen Workshop, der im Juni 2008 in Wroclaw, Polen, stattgefunden hat. Thema dieses Workshops war die Interpretation von asteroseismologischen Daten. In dieser Ausgabe wird sowohl die Datengewinnung mit bodengebundenen Teleskopen als auch mit Satelliten diskutiert und die Auswirkungen von Opazität, Konvektion, Rotation und Magnetfeldern auf Sternpulsationen und deren Stabilität erörtert. Modenidentifikation und die Extraktion von Eigenmoden-Frequenzen aus den Daten waren zwei weitere große Themen dieses Workshops. Auch in der Zukunft geplante Projekte wurden vorgestellt und diskutiert.
