Abstract
Ce mémoire regroupe en grande partie les informations relatives à un projet de maîtrise de la Chaire de Recherche en eau potable de l'Université Laval. Son objectif principal est de développer un outil de prédiction des concentrations en chlore résiduel libre (CCRL) sur plusieurs quartiers de la Ville de Québec à l'aide d'un modèle hydraulique. Plusieurs campagnes d'échantillonnage ont été réalisées durant l'année 2009 afin de mesurer les CCRL et d'étudier leurs variations spatiale et saisonnière. Un modèle calé sur une étude au traceur a permis de connaître les temps de séjour de l'eau (TDS), l'un des paramètres clefs de la cinétique de dégradation du chlore libre en réseau de distribution. Il a été observé que d'autres paramètres coimne les indicateurs de matière organique naturelle (MON), la température de l'eau ou l'âge des conduites ont une influence sur cette cinétique; un modèle a été élaboré en conséquence. Ce modèle a permis de rendre compte du lien étroit entre les TDS et les CCRL ainsi que des zones à faibles CCRL où la vulnérabilité du consommateur est plus forte.
