Urmare a creterii rapide i substaniale a investiiilor din statele UE i SUA (pn la 9-12 mld dolari) Romnia a devenit ara cu cel mai mare PIB din regiune (egal cu cca. 200, 0 mld. dolari) devansnd nu doar Ucraina, dar i Grecia. Concomitent ea a reuit s diminueze cu 24 p.p. timp de un deceniu decalajul su dintre PIBul per/capita fa de media curent.
