Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We present results of a search for anomalous production of events containing a charged lepton ($\ensuremath{\ell}$, either $e$ or $\ensuremath{\mu}$) and a photon ($\ensuremath{\gamma}$), both with high transverse momentum, accompanied by additional signatures $X$, including missing transverse energy (${\mathrm{E\ensuremath{\llap{\not\;}}}}_{T}$) and additional leptons and photons. We use the same selection criteria as in a previous CDF search but with a substantially larger data set, $305\text{ }\mathrm{p}{\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$, a $p\overline{p}$ collision energy of 1.96 TeV, and the CDF II detector. We find 42 $\ensuremath{\ell}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\mathrm{E\ensuremath{\llap{\not\;}}}}_{T}$ events versus an expectation of $37.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}5.4$ events. We observe 31 $\ensuremath{\ell}\ensuremath{\ell}\ensuremath{\gamma}+X$ events versus an expectation of $23.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.7$ events. We find no events similar to the run I $ee\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\mathrm{E\ensuremath{\llap{\not\;}}}}_{T}$ event.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
