Abstract
Le nombre de co-infections VIH-1/Leishmania ne cesse d’augmenter dans les zones d’endémicité. La leishmaniose viscérale est souvent causée par Leishmania infantum et se caractérise par le parasitisme incontrôlé des viscères. Dans la présente étude, nous avons exposé des cellules B provenant d’amygdales humaines aux amastigotes de Leishmania infantum et avons observé une augmentation de l’expression de plusieurs marqueurs d’activation ainsi qu’une augmentation dose-dépendante de la sécrétion de l’IL-10. Les milieux conditionnés extraits de cultures de cellules B exposées à Leishmania ont un effet inhibiteur sur l’activation des lymphocytes T CD4+ et sur la réplication du VIH-1 dans ces cellules. Ainsi, l’exposition des cellules B à Leishmania favorise leur activation et induit la sécrétion de facteurs solubles ayant des propriétés régulatrices qui modulent la réplication du VIH-1 dans les lymphocytes T CD4+.
