Abstract
L’’ouvrage codirigé par Ioana Cîrstocea, Delphine Lacombe et Élisabeth Marteu est issu des travaux menés au sein du programme ANR « GLOBAL GENDER » (2013-2016), qui avait pour objectif d’« interroger dans une perspective critique [la] fortune internationale du genre » (p. 7). Apparu dans les milieux féministes nord-américains à la fin des années 1960, le concept de genre a fait l’objet d’une véritable institutionnalisation depuis la Conférence de Mexico (1975) jusqu’à la promotion du gender mainstreaming à la Conférence de Pékin (1995). Devenu « catégorie conceptuelle et d’action » (p. 271) dans divers espaces sociaux (universités, milieux associatifs et militants, institutions), il a donné lieu à une multiplication d’usages et de significations, sans pour autant que la littérature creuse les « logiques mêmes de sa diffusion et de ses appropriations différenciées » (p. 9)
