La prégnance des disparités spatiales de persévérance et de réussite scolaires laisse présager l’influence de réels facteurs territoriaux sur les parcours scolaires des jeunes. Pour appréhender de tels facteurs, des analyses multivariées ont été menées sur 101 municipalités régionales de comté (MRC) du Québec. En tout, 172 variables associées à cinq composantes du territoire (démographie et familles, diversité ethnoculturelle, marché de l’emploi, conditions de vie et occupation du territoire) ont été mises en relation avec le taux de diplomation et de qualification après sept ans au secondaire (cohortes de 2006 et 2007). Les résultats montrent que certains facteurs individuels et familiaux habituellement associés à la persévérance scolaire y sont également liés lorsque analysés à l’échelle des territoires. Ils révèlent également l’influence de facteurs territoriaux encore peu explorés sur la persévérance scolaire.
