Abstract
Pendant près d’un demi-siècle, l’écrivain Jacques Ferron a publié régulièrement des articles sous la rubrique « Historiettes » dans deux périodiques bimensuels, L’Information médicale et paramédicale et Le Courrier médical. Une centaine de ces historiettes parues entre 1960 et 1961 sont demeurées inédites, c’est-à-dire non publiées en recueil. La présente étude se propose de dégager de ce corpus réduit, mais représentatif, une certaine unité thématique, idéologique et littéraire. L’approche critique vise avant tout à éclairer le travail d’écriture de Ferron, en prenant en compte les modèles littéraires dont l’écrivain se réclame, l’hybridité générique des historiettes et surtout le recours constant à ces procédés rhétoriques que sont la satire, l’ironie, l’humour. À la différence de l’Histoire, qui se veut le discours objectif de la réalité, les Historiettes sont le fruit d’une subjectivité qui, grâce au langage littéraire, propose une vision personnelle, une stylisation et une poétisation de l’historique, du politique, du social et de l’individuel.
