Abstract
Bakhita serait née en 1869 au Darfour. Enlevée à sept ans par des trafiquants d’esclaves, elle sera vendue sur les marchés d'El Obeid ou de Khartoum, passant d’un notable arabe à un général turc, avant d’être achetée, en 1883, par le consul italien. Obstinée, elle réussit à convaincre son maître de l’emmener en Italie où, après moult péripéties et un procès, elle deviendra religieuse. Elle meurt en 1947.
