Abstract
Kurtuluş Savaşı ve Cumhuriyet’in kuruluş dönemiyle alakalı birçok roman kaleme alınmıştır. Kaleme alınan bu romanlar dönemin siyasi olaylarını genel itibariyle resmi tarih çerçevesinden ele almış bundan dolayı da belli kalıplar kullanarak dönemin aktörlerini ve olaylarını okuyucuya yansıtmak istemiştir. Yaşananları bazen bir destan havası içerisinde takdim ederek olayları gerçeklik boyutundan uzaklaştırmıştır. Buna karşılık Kemal Tahir bu resmi tarih söylemine bağlı kalan roman yazarlarından ve edebiyatçılardan farklı olarak alternatif bir bakış açısıyla olayları ele alıp eserlerinde işlemiştir. Yazar, bir destandan ziyade belgelerden de faydalanarak bir tarihçi gibi gerçekleri günyüzüne çıkarmak istemiştir. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı’dan Cumhuriyet’e geçiş dönemine dair birçok roman kaleme almış olan Kemal Tahir’in Cumhuriyet’in ilk dönemlerinde (1923-1930) meydana gelen siyasi olaylara dair ortaya koyduğu görüş ve düşünceleri incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda Osmanlı’dan Cumhburiyet’e tevarüs eden fikir, düşünce ve kurumlar, Terakkiperver Cumhuriyet Fırkası, İzmir Suikasti ve tasfiyeler, Serbest Fırka’nın kuruluşu ve kapanması gibi önemli siyasi olayların onun romanlarına nasıl yansıdığı ortaya konulmak istenmiştir.
