Abstract
Schwingungsenergietransfer (VET) in Proteinen wird in Computerstudien mit Allosterie und anderen Aspekten der Proteinfunktion in Verbindung gebracht. J. Bredenbeck, N. Budisa und Mitarbeiter zeigen in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 2925, wie Schwingungsenergie injiziert und ortsaufgelöst experimentell nachverfolgt werden kann. Durch Verwendung eines genetisch codierten ultraschnellen Heizelements und von Femtosekunden-IR-Spektroskopie ermöglichte dieser Ansatz die Kartierung von VET-Pfaden in Proteinen und die Untersuchung der Rolle des VET für die Proteinfunktion.
