D eux hommes de thtre : Marcel Dub, qui prend le masque de l'auteur tragique 2 , est considr comme le pre du thtre qubcois, mme si la plupart de ses pices ont t crites dans les annes 50 et 60 du XX e sicle donc pendant la priode o l'on emploie encore plus facilement l'adjec f canadien-franais que qubcois, et Wajdi Mouawad, figure majeure de la scne thtrale contemporaine au Qubec, qui se fait connatre du grand public avec les quatre volets de sa ttralogie in tule Le sang des promesses. plus de trente ans d'intervalle -Au retour des oies blanches est publie en 1969 et Incendies en 2003 -les dramaturges reprennent l'histoire mythique du roi de Thbes, celui qui aurait tu son pre et aurait couch avec sa mre, et en proposent des versions qubcoises modernises.
