Abstract
Social media exerts a powerful presence in the initiation, maintenance and the devolution of its users’ relationships but we are just beginning to understand how these online spaces construct relationality. In this drama-as-research project, young adults were invited to discuss how they curate their gender avatars on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, gaming sites or other online platforms. Conceiving of social media as a site of public pedagogy, I explored what one witnesses, resists and learns about relationality and gender identity within the social media habitus.
