Abstract
Notre exposé se propose d’aborder les questions suivantes :— l’héritage archivistique du Royaume d’Italie au moment de l’unification nationale (1861) ;— archives administratives et archives historiques : le choix du rattachement au même ministère (Intérieur) ;— la marche prudente vers une organisation homogène ;— les bâtiments affectés aux archives et leur conséquence sur la conservation des fonds ;— le discours de la méthode : la permanence des systèmes de classement uniformes et l’application progressive du respect de l’ordre interne des fonds (« L’ordre historique des affaires et des actes », selon le règlement du décret royal du 27 mai 1875) ;— le métier d’archiviste et la recherche historique ;— l’influence des idéologies sur les archives : les tris, les archives secrètes, les musées d’archives ;— les archivistes déchirés entre identité nationale à bâtir, traditions régionales à respecter, et devoirs d’impartialité.
