Abstract
Primary external auditory canal (EAC) malignancies are very rare with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) representing approximately 5% of these tumors. The majority of these patients present with constant ear pain of prolonged duration, hearing loss and a mass in the external ear canal. The treatment is surgical resection and postoperative radiation therapy. However, the overall prognosis is poor due to recurrences and distant metastasis.
