Abstract
Le droit à la protection de la vie privée s’est mis en place progressivement au cours du xx e siècle. À partir des années 1970, la notion de protection de la vie privée s’amalgame de plus en plus à celle de protection des données à caractère personnel. Celle-ci trouve une traduction juridique dans la réglementation européenne (directive 95/46/CE en 1995, puis RGPD en 2016). Déplacée sur le terrain de l’informatique et des libertés, la question de la protection juridique de la vie privée se teinte d’une revendication nouvelle, celle du droit à l’oubli, qui se heurte parfois à la liberté d’expression ou à la liberté d’écrire l’histoire.
