Abstract
Cet article présente les résultats d’une recherche menée au Québec dont l’objectif était d’articuler une analyse intersectionnelle des discours identitaires de femmes qui exercent de la violence. Sans banaliser ou justifier la violence, cette recherche s’est intéressée spécifiquement aux discours identitaires de 34 femmes qui exerçaient de la violence physique et psychologique envers diverses cibles. En plus de contribuer au développement encore récent des données sur la violence féminine, ces résultats ont permis de discuter du caractère fluide et variable de l’identité de genre ainsi que des positions complexes et parfois en tension dans lesquelles se situent ces femmes et des « engrenages » systémiques qui les oppressent potentiellement en tant que femmes et mères.
