Abstract
Le présent article s’intéresse aux obligations du Canada à l’égard de la situation des filles et des femmes autochtones assassinées ou disparues au Canada. Plus précisément, il aborde la question suivante : le Canada avait-il l’obligation de donner suite à la recommandation du Comité chargé de la mise en oeuvre de la Convention sur l’élimination de toutes les formes de discrimination à l’égard des femmes, soit celle de faire une enquête sur les filles et les femmes autochtones disparues ou assassinées ? Les arguments avancés par l’auteure lui permettent de conclure que le Canada avait une obligation positive à cet égard.
