L’adoption de la PESD par les États membres de l’UE pose un défi analytique de taille aux chercheurs et ouvre indéniablement de nouvelles perspectives de recherche. Le présent ouvrage collectif vise, sous différents angles, à démontrer que la PESD ne peut être entièrement comprise sans prendre en considération les interactions entre une grande variété d’acteurs publics et privés ; les processus qui l’animent et les enjeux qui complexifient la concrétisation des initiatives relatives à cette politique européenne. Le survol de l’élaboration de la PESD, de ses structures et de ses missions, nous révèle sa nature et sa portée, mais ce n’est qu’au regard de la (re) conceptualisation de la notion de sécurité que nous sommes en mesure de saisir les implications de cette politique atypique.
