Abstract
En la tesis que presentamos, Transgredr los limites: dolor y redencion. La mirada contemporanea de Atom Egoyan a traves de Exotica y The Sweet Hereafter, investigamos los temas principales de la filmografia de Atom Egoyan, realizador canadiense contemporaneo. En sus films Egoyan trata sobre la postura del individuo ante los diversos grupos: familiares, sociales, culturales. El estudio se ha concretado especialmente en sus peliculas Exotica (Exotica, 1994 Canada) y The Sweet Hereafter (El dulce porvenir, 1997 Canada). Dos peliculas que condensan de una forma mas contundente el estilo de Atom Egoyan a la hora de estructurar, organizar y realizar el film. Se analiza la forma en que sus temas se concretizan en sus peliculas, donde se genera un estilo propio que refleja la complejidad de estos temas e incluye al espectador dentro mismo de esos debates, llevando el discurso de sus peliculas mas alla de la identificacion del espectador con el universo diegetico.
