Abstract
La crise financière mondiale de 2008 a eu un effet particulièrement violent en Espagne, où l’accès à la propriété et au crédit était historiquement élevé et fortement encouragé par l’État. L’effondrement de la valeur des propriétés immobilières, l’augmentation des mensualités de remboursement et celle du chômage ont provoqué des centaines de milliers de saisies de biens et d’expulsions de familles encore chargées du poids de leur dette. Mêlant pratiques militantes solidaires, institutionnelles et subversives, la Plateforme des personnes affectées par les hypothèques (PAH) lutte depuis 2009 pour dénoncer le système politico-financier corrompu, pour arrêter les expulsions et annuler la dette des familles. Même si le système n’est pas renversé et que les avancées sont fragiles, ces mobilisations ont permis la dignification des personnes endettées, un cadrage alternatif de la crise, des réformes institutionnelles et le renouvellement de la politique municipale.
