Abstract
Immune checkpoint inhibitors target pathways involved in immune regulation, including cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) and programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1). Their therapeutic use is well-established for many solid-organ, haemotological and skin malignancies, such as metastatic melanoma, in which a notable survival benefit has been reported with combination anti-CTLA-4 (Ipilimumab) and anti-PD-1 (Nivolumab) agents.1,2 However, immune-related adverse events (IrAEs) are common and when used in combination can affect greater than 95% of patients.
