A diabetes é uma doença crônica que atinge uma parcela considerável da população mundial. Tendo isso em vista, o Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario desenvolveu uma série de cartões ilustrativos para aconselhamento em diabetes com objetivo de auxiliar pacientes não letrados e/ou com alguma barreira linguística. Em parceria com o CHEO, os autores estabeleceram uma parceria e relatam neste artigo a avaliação e testagem do uso destes cartões no contexto brasileiro. O objetivo foi investigar a compreensibilidade dos pictogramas com pessoas de diferentes culturas e promover a saúde de forma igualitária. Os resultados apontaram dificuldades na compreensão em somente alguns dos pictogramas, que passaram por um processo de redesign.
