Abstract
Ce mémoire présente une étude exploratoire visant à estimer la valeur économique de la biodiversité dans un contexte de différentes intensités d'aménagement forestier. Le projet Triade de la Mauricie. instaurant un zonage sur le territoire forestier, a servi de contexte à l'étude. La méthode de l'évaluation contingente est utilisée. Il s'agit de réaliser une enquête par questionnaire demandant le consentement à payer (CAP) des répondants pour un changement de biodiversité. Le questionnaire visait deux populations : les résidents de La Tuque et les villégiateurs de zones d'exploitations contrôlées et de pourvoiries du Haut-Saint-Maurice. Trois objectifs spécifiques viennent préciser l'étude : (1) évaluer le consentement à payer (CAP) des répondants pour des situations d'aménagement forestier différentes; (2) identifier les caractéristiques des répondants qui influencent leur consentement à payer; (3) valider l'importance des fonctions de la forêt pour les répondants. Les valeurs de CAP pour un changement de biodiversité obtenues dans cette étude sont conservatrices. Comme tous les résultats d'évaluations contingentes, nos résultats sont probablement fortement influencés par le contexte de l'étude, son scénario et son mode de paiement. Néanmoins, cette étude pourrait alimenter la réflexion sur l'intégration de la biodiversité à la gestion forestière et servir de base à d'autres études de monétisation des valeurs intangibles dans un contexte québécois.
