Abstract

This chapter studies and analyzes multilayer-encryption anonymity networks. Multilayer-encryption anonymity networks aim to enable users to access the Internet without being tracked or traced. To achieve this, they use technologies to resist traffic analysis and network surveillance - or at least make it more difficult. However, for various reasons - from network operations to security - network packet and flow analysis have been employed to identify multilayer-encryption anonymity networks. In the following, we discuss the usage of traditional and nature-inspired artificial intelligence and data analytics techniques to classify encrypted anonymity network traffic.
