Abstract
This presentation is based on a master's research (in progress) that seeks to discuss the structuring of the educational curriculum in Canada in relation to the needs of the indigenous in the educational system (mentioning the existing flaws) and how the indigenous population fits in the educational system of the heritage European. The result of the difficulty encountered by indigenous peoples in completing secondary education and entering post-secondary education is reflected in the unemployment rate among indigenous youth. The research is in progress with the collection of information related to the educational investment received by the indigenous and non-indigenous and their disparities. One of the objectives is to describe a third curricular option that addresses the educational needs of indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians, and how this could help reduce unemployment among the natives and contribute to Canadian economic development.
