Abstract
Cette étude évalue la faisabilité économique de deux nouveaux types de coupes de jardinage, développés pour la forêt résineuse irrégulière du Québec (Canada). Cette faisabilité économique a été comparée à la rentabilité d’une coupe avec protection de la régénération et des sols (CPRS), considère un horizon de croissance supérieur à 200 ans, et inclut la majorité des coûts d’opérations forestières, jusqu’aux produits finis (sciages et copeaux). Les résultats indiquent que les coupes de jardinage permettront des revenus et des coûts stables dans le temps, et même que dans le futur, elles seront économiquement plus intéressantes que les CPRS, selon nos hypothèses. L’analyse financière comparant les deux types de coupes de jardinage à la CPRS, inclut des simulations Monte Carlo. Cette approche permet de considérer l’incertitude des nombreuses variables impliquées, leurs interactions, et leurs impacts sur la rentabilité. Les valeurs actuelles nettes obtenues sont ainsi associées à une distribution de probabilité.
