Abstract
Avec Pasque di sangue. Ebrei d’Europa e omicidi rituali, le médiéviste Ariel Toaff a proposé à nouveau à l’attention publique la vieille accusation de meurtre rituel contre les juifs. Le livre a suscité des débats nourris et tendus, en Italie d’abord, mais bientôt au-delà : en l’espace de seulement deux mois, plus de cent cinquante articles ont été publiés dans les plus importants journaux italiens, israéliens, américains et même français. À la suite de l’auteur, d’autres protagonistes ont pris la parole : de nombreux historiens, la presse, des maisons d’éditions, des représentants de diverses confessions (juive, catholique, musulmane), des groupes politiques, des commanditaires, l’opinion publique (à travers des pétitions et dans des blogs). L’analyse présentée dans cet article s’emploie à montrer que le débat s’est engagé sur une série de scènes discontinues, désaccordées et superposées, dont il importe de restituer les configurations et les logiques.
