Flujos de inversión extranjera directa canadiense en México y su incidencia en la competitividad nacional

Abstract
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar los factores que se asocian a la atraccion de inversion extranjera directa (IED) canadiense que ingresa a Mexico, y analizar su incidencia sobre la competitividad en Mexico. Para esto, se utilizo la tecnica estadistica de Analisis de Componentes Principales que reduce las variables a menor numero perdiendo la menor cantidad de informacion posible y agruparlas de acuerdo a la relacion que guarden entre ellas, conformando nuevas variables compuestas. Los resultados muestran que durante 1991 – 2011, la IED en Mexico, proveniente de Canada se asocio con el tamano de mercado, la infraestructura, los niveles salariales y la educacion, que de acuerdo al Institute of Managament and Development, son factores de competitividad, y al haber una asociacion positiva, si se incrementan los flujos de IED Canadienses, se coadyuvara a incrementar la competitividad total del pais.
