Abstract
El elemento fundante del miedo en la narrativa policial adquiere forma acorde a la sociedad aludida. El objeto temido es cambiante porque se refiere a un presente y puede ser identificado tanto en los tópicos narrativos como en la forma en que estos son narrados. Este artículo busca entender la relación entre el éxito editorial que tiene hoy el género policial en dos países del Cono Sur, Argentina y Chile, y los miedos específicos que estos textos sobre crimen señalan. Teniendo como marco teórico los estudios sobre el miedo y siguiendo la idea de Jacques Rancière de que toda política deriva en reflexión estética, se analiza la manera en que escritores chilenos y argentinos (Roberto Bolaño, Mario Valdivia, Josefina Licitra, Mariana Enríquez y Claudia Piñeiro) enmarcan, explican o distribuyen el mundo sensible, mostrando nuevas manifestaciones del miedo comprendido en lo que sería un “realismo capitalista”. En este caso en particular, se trata de un temor producto de la vulnerabilidad generada en un contexto neoliberal cuyo leitmotiv es el consumo y la exclusión.
