Le projet de place royale et de reconstruction de l’hôtel de ville de Marseille, confié de 1747 à 1752 à Jacques Hardouin-Mansart de Sagonne, est assurément, avec l’hôtel-Dieu de la ville, l’un des grands projets urbains de la France de Louis XV.
