Abstract
Cet article s’appuie sur les archives d’Algérie conservées aux Archives nationales d’outre-mer. Dès 1908, le gouvernement général d’Algérie exerce une surveillance sur des indigènes et sur des chefs religieux soupçonnés de communisme, de panislamisme ou de velléités d’indépendance ; puis entrent en scène les partis nationalistes, et enfin les réseaux clandestins de rebelles de la guerre d’Algérie, après 1954.C’est la trajectoire du renseignement, et la vision des réseaux construite par les services de police, qui sont en question : comment l’information était-elle rassemblée, résumée, transmise et perçue aux niveaux supérieurs (préfet, gouverneur général, ministre) ? Portant sur les années 1930-1939 (Étoile nord-africaine, Parti du peuple algérien) et sur les années 1955-1958 (Front de libération nationale), cette étude souligne la forte surveillance qui s’exerçait en Algérie sur les séparatistes, et la parfaite information que recevait le gouvernement à Paris.
